         schoolvideo

I create professional films for schools across the UK - working directly with head teachers, marketing leads and business managers

I work without an agency, sales team or account managers which translates to clear communication, sensible budgets and a filmmaker who understands your school from the first conversation to the final edit.

I specialise in filming:

  • primary schools

  • secondary schools

  • SEND schools

From promotional films and prospectus videos to school productions, plays and prom nights, I work professionally and discreetly within busy school environments.

If you're planning a new prospectus video, updating your website or capturing an important event - please don't hesitate to contact me.

             aboutme

I'm Robert Jacobs - a film-maker with over 25 years of experience producing professional video content.

Unlike larger production companies, I work independently. When you contact me, you speak directly to the person filming and editing your project. There's no sales layer, no inflated crew costs and no disconnect between planning and delivery.

Over the years I've worked with a wide range of organisations, but schools have become a real focus of mine.

Filming in schools requires:

  • safeguarding awareness

  • discretion and professionalism

  • the ability to work around busy timetables

  • a calm presence with pupils and staff

Because I work alone, schools often find the experience far less intrusive than a full production crew on site. It allows me to capture authentic moments without disrupting the school day.

While schoolvideo.net is dedicated to education, my broader commercial portfolio can be seen at bobfilm.co.uk.

              what
Ido..

Every school is different - and the way I film reflects that.

 primary schools

Primary school films tend to focus on warmth, energy and community. I produce:

  • prospectus and admissions videos

  • website homepage films

  • reception intake promotional films

  • event coverage (plays, performances, special days)

The goal is to give prospective parents a real feel for the school - not something overly scripted, but something honest and engaging reflecting the best aspects of the school.

 secondary schools â€‹â€‹

Secondary school films often balance professionalism with student voice. Typical projects include:

  • website homepage films

  • promotional films for open evenings

  • sixth form recruitment videos

  • subject showcase films

  • school production and prom night coverage

I work efficiently within larger campuses and understand the logisitcs of filming across multiple departments carefully including each school's unique selling points.

 SEND schools â€‹â€‹

I have extensive experience filming in SEND environments and understand the importance of:

  • creating a calm filming atmosphere

  • allowing flexibility in schedule

  • working closely with staff

  • capturing genuine interactions without pressure.

These films often focus on environment, support, specialist facilities and the individual attention pupils receive. Sensitivity and trust are key.

      how it works

1. Initial conversation (usually with head teacher and/or marketing lead).

2. Simple proposal and clear pricing.

3. Script development.

4. Filming days arranged around your timetable.

5. Professional edit delivered ready for web and social use.

No upselling. No agency layers. Just straightforward, high-quality filmmaking tailored to your school.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work. Those two days were pretty hectic and you just went with it, with total professionalism and without complaint. The edited versions of all 12 videos are great, I know how much time and effort has gone into them. Thank you for making the amends and approval process as easy as possible by just 'getting it'.
Laura Skinner - Sancton Wood School

We employed (Robert Jacobs) to create some videos of our SEMH School to be placed on our website. His quality and professionalism was outstanding. His emotional approach to our students and staff was impeccable.
Paul Thompson - VTC Independent School

We are delighted with our 5-minute school showcase video. It is exactly what we were picturing and hoping for. Thank you for incorporating our drone shots and show footage - many companies only want to use their own footage. The music and singing of our school song Jerusalem works really well. Rob was very easy to work with in advance of the shoot and really understood what we were trying to achieve. He was very flexible and adaptable during the two day shoot. The cost was very reasonable too.
Thank you.
Sarah Reynolds - Haberdashers Adams

Brilliant video for our school. Very reasonable price. Rob was able to work around the needs of our SEN pupils. Highly recommend.
Emma Palmer - Birtley House Specialist School

We were all so delighted with the presentation of our school in this high quality , extremely well produced film. Thank you.
Maria Grimmer - St Nicholas Priory School

Robert was brilliant at checking in with us and making suggestions as we were total novices! He was also very adaptable and helpful at the editing stage. We are really pleased with our
promotional video.

Amelia Harding - Our Lady of the Angels Primary

Communication with Rob was easy and enabled us to clarify exactly what we wanted to achieve. He was very clear about what could work well and offered great advice. Initially, we had a short Zoom meeting and then we were able to plan a script and I made a plan of all the unique selling points of our school, thinking carefully about creating an interesting range of visual shots.
We knew our school would look great if we could film outside in the sunshine as much as possible. We booked Rob for two days and he filmed lots of different activities. In the lead up to filming, we created a buzz with the children and parents as we collected the necessary permissions.
Within two weeks we had the film to approve and one small tweak was made overnight. We’ve already launched the video in meetings and through social media and the response has been incredible
